UDS Enterprise supports the latest OpenStack versions

by | Jan 31, 2019

One of the many innovations added to the new release of the UDS Enterprise connection broker is the support for the latest OpenStack versions. UDS Enterprise 2.2.1 allows managing and deploying virtual desktops and sessions of virtual applications with Pike, Queens, Rocky and Stein versions of the popular cloud orchestrator.

Previous versions of OpenStack are still compatible with the VDI and vApp connection broker. To optimize and simplify the integration with any release of this Open Source platform, UDS Enterprise 2.2.1 incorporates two different connectors:

  • OpenStack Platform Provider, for Ocata and later versions .

  • OpenStack legacy Platform Provider , for versions prior to Ocata.

Choosing the right provider for the implemented version of OpenStack facilitates the management and improves the performance of the desktop virtualization infrastructure.

The seamless operation of a VDI platform with UDS Enterprise and OpenStack has been verified by OpenStack Foundation that, after carrying out various compatibility tests, granted the OpenStack Compatible certification to the connection broker.

The integration of UDS Enterprise with OpenStack provides important advantages to administrators of the cloud orchestrator. Among them, the simplicity and ease of management of VDI through the simple UDS Enterprise web interface, the possibility of enabling several hypervisors, authenticators and connection protocols to run simultaneously and the access from any device.
