There are several options for printing on a virtual desktop with UDS Enterprise:
-Printing via network printer: The user’s local printer is shared through the network and it is accessible by virtual desktops.
-Printing via RDP: The user should check “Redirect printers” option. It is important to bear in mind that the local printer drivers should be installed on the desktop. Learn more here
-Printing via protocol that allows local RAW device redirection (e.g. RGS connection). In this way, USB and other local ports are directly shown on the virtual desktop.
-Printing via HTML5 connection, creating a pdf document to download on the client.
-For the moment, printing on Linux is a bit more limited. One option is to share the local printer on network in order to print remotely. Besides, our scripts notify the virtual desktop from where the connection is being made, making possible the creation of a new script which automatically makes available the network printer from the machine which is being conneted.
-With newer Linux versions, where usb over ip is part of kernel, now also exists the posibility to redirect an local usb printer to remote server using usbip.
