To solve the “the connection cannot proceed because authentication is not enabled” when connecting to Windows 10 from UDS using RDP we have two alternatives:

Enable CredSSP Support on UDS Transport

Fix the default Windows 10 behavior for connections

  • Open RegEdit
  • Navigate to this Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp
  • Change “SecurityLayer” to a one (or zero)
  • Reboot
