One of our clients, the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE) has translated UDS Enterprise into Italian. After learning about the software and starting to carry out the required tests to see if it was the most appropriate VDI solution to resolve their problems, the IT team of this educational center raised the possibility of improving the translation into the native language of their students.
The UDS Enterprise team immediately accepted their proposal and gave them access to the Open Source tool used to perform the translations. The open nature of UDS Enterprise makes it easy to add new languages and polish existing ones with the help of the community.
"The possibility of implementing UDS Enterprise in our organization required a better translation of the user interface, so we considered collaborating in revising the localization in Italian. Thanks to our IT team's efforts and the feedback from the University users who tested the software's features, we were able to finish improving it," explains Massimo Vignone, System Administrator of this university center.
Shortly afterward, the proof of concept was completed, which served to verify UDS Enterprise's suitability for the adoption of desktop virtualization at the University. "We were looking for a VDI broker that was able to work natively with Nutanix AHV. After reading about UDS Enterprise and its use in academic institutions in Spain, we decided to try it and compare it with other solutions that we had already tested in the past," says Vignone.
Once the assessments were completed, this software emerged as the best alternative, and UNIMORE became a UDS Enterprise customer. "The product is straightforward to implement and meets all our needs," states the Systems Administrator.
The flexibility of the software and its remarkable capacity to adapt to each project's specific requirements is one of the most highly valued aspects of UDS Enterprise. The team behind this VDI broker believes in the advantages of collaborative work and sharing knowledge to improve, customize the software and turn it into a solution tailored to each organization. This philosophy applies to its translation so that anyone interested in converting UDS Enterprise into their language can request it. Today the software is already available in eleven different languages: English, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, Catalan, and Basque.
