VDI on ESXi-Arm, MetaRed and cloud VDI with UDS Enterprise

by | Nov 6, 2020

This week we have welcomed November and, as we usually do at the beginning of each month, today we bring you the Top 3 most read articles in our blog throughout the previous month.

In the first place, we find the publication that talks about the compatibility of our software for desktop, application virtualization and remote access with one of the new VMware solutions: ESXi-Arm. UDS Enterprise supports this new hypervisor, which adds to the list of options offered by our connection broker to deploy Windows and Linux virtual desktops on 64-bit ARM architectures.

The second most visited post has been the one that deals with the participation of the University of Murcia in the MetaRed webinar on hybrid classrooms. Among other things, they explained how their VDI platform with UDS Enterprise has helped them meet the challenges imposed by Covid-19 and why it is one of the technological pillars of their IT strategy.

And finally, in third position is the article that relates the experience of the Chimborazo Higher Polytechnic College with UDS Enterprise. Thanks to the use of cloud virtual desktops with this VDI software, the students of this educational center in Ecuador were able to carry out their studies normally during lockdown for the pandemic.

It was initiated by the European Commission, the Council of Europe, and the Data Protection authorities of the European Union’s member states. Their main goal was to drive attention to the importance of privacy, user data protection, and compliance of the General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD). It is a regulation characterized by significant fines for non-compliance since its implementation in 2018.

How to avoid issues with virtual machines

Virtualization comes with a wide range of benefits for organizations. It helps cut IT costs and reduces downtime while increasing efficiency and productivity. It also increases the resiliency of networks, primarily when disasters occur, and promotes more green-friendly operations.

However, using virtual machines also comes with a set of downsides. Information security may get compromised, workloads mixed up, separation duties lost, among other issues. It is vital to know how you can get over these problems, and that’s what this article will discuss.

Let’s get started.
