As we already mentioned in our blog, the University of Malaga (UMA) presented the UDS Enterprise Virtual PC Plugin in the latest edition of MoodleMoot Global. This development, carried out by the UMA IT staff in close collaboration with the UDS Enterprise team, turned Moodle into the first e-Learning platform capable of providing Windows and Linux virtual desktops and applications as if they were just another educational resource. And not only that. The integration of UDS Enterprise with OpenGnsys also allows providing remote access to physical devices regardless of their location through Moodle.
Due to the growing interest in the possibilities offered by this Plugin for distance learning, we have collected the video of the presentation made by Carlos Romero, Head of the Virtual Campus of the University of Malaga, during the event held in Barcelona. You can see it below:
The Virtual PC Plugin is compatible with Moodle version 2.8 onwards and can be downloaded for free from Moodle plugin directory.
Moodle users from all over the world are taking advantage of this Plugin. It is being especially useful during the current health situation, which has required the introduction of distance learning to mitigate the risks of Covid-19 infection.
Thanks to this tool, IT departments and teachers can make available to students all the teaching resources they need through a single platform. With the advantages that it is accessible at all times, from any place and device and, besides, it is centrally managed and maintained.
The University of Malaga is one of the educational centers that has long used this solution. Now, they are making the most out of its functionalities to follow the academic course as usual during the alarm state. You can check their experience in this article.
