VMworld Europe 2016, one of the most eagerly awaited technological events of the year, is taking place from today to next Thursday 20th at Fira de Gran Via, in Barcelona. During these days more than 20.000 ICT professionals will gather at VMware's anual event, with more than 300 sessions scheduled about cloud, mobility, workplace transformation, security, hyperconverged infrastructure, network virtualization...

This year the motto is Be Tomorrow and it will probably have more impact than VMworld US, since it looks as if the company has kept the important announcements for the conference in Barcelona.

In order to build expectation, the company announced last week a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build and deliver a hybrid cloud offer. This new product is VMware Cloud on AWS, it integrates VMware’s private cloud with Amazon’s public cloud and it will allow to run applications through private, public and hybrid clouds based on VMware vSphere. It works on VMware Cloud Foundation, a SDDC unified platform that integrates VMware vSphere, VMware Virtual SAN and NSX technologies, and it will provide access to all AWS services.

VMware CEO, Pat Gelsinger will talk about this and other announcements during the general session which will take place tomorrow at 9.00 AM. If you’re not attending the event, you can watch it in streaming here

However, using virtual machines also comes with a set of downsides. Information security may get compromised, workloads mixed up, separation duties lost, among other issues. It is vital to know how you can get over these problems, and that’s what this article will discuss.

Let’s get started.
