Today we keep on talking about RemotePC project, introduced last week at RedIRIS Technical Conference 2015 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
In this post we're describing the architecture, which is based on UDS Enterprise's architecture, our multiplatform connection broker for Windows & Linux. As you can see in the image at the top of this post, UDS Enterprise communicates with different service providers, such as hypervisors to access VDI and virtualized applications; cloud services...
One of these services providers is OpenGnsys, it enables access to physical PCs. Users access OpenGnsys through the broker to use the computers located in the university's computer classrooms. One of the advantages of this project thanks to UDS Enterprise is energy saving, since the broker allows switching on and off the devices on demand, according to the number of users accessing computers everytime.
This infrastructure is totally transparent to users, the only thing they have to do is access the website provided by the university. As many Spanish universities use UDS Enterprise to deploy virtual desktops and applications, users can access virtual and physical desktops from a single dashboard.
